Family Fun All Summer Long!
Virginia TimeTravelers is a program for families who want something fun
and educational to do over the summer to ward off the “brain drain” that
usually occurs around July and August!
There are over 90 museums who participate in the program in the
Richmond area and over 300 statewide. They include Maymont House and
Nature Center, Children’s Museum of Richmond, Virginia Museum of Fine
Arts, Agecroft Hall, Metro Richmond Zoo, Maggie Walker House, and meadow
Farm.
The program is free to families and offers discount at many
participating museums. Children who visit two or more Science related
museums receive a free Science Adventures iron-on patch. Children who
visit 6 or more museums receive a free certificate signed by the Governor
making them official TimeTravelers. They can also receive an official
TimeTravelers T-shirt.
Last year over 4,000 children completed the program.
TimeTravelers “passports” (brochures) are available at participating
sites: Ukrop's, Ramada Hotels of Virginia, Libraries and State Visitor
Centers.
