We have been invited to participate in a focus
group concerning the Lakeside Avenue area -

Saturday morning October 6 at 9 AM.

Meeting will be held at the Bryan Park Gatekeepers
House. Coffee will be served.

Details of the project:

Henrico County has asked VCU’s urban and regional
planning graduate students to study Lakeside
Avenue and make recommendations regarding its
potential. Part of the students’ research includes
customer surveys at various retail locations in
Lakeside and focus groups with neighborhood
stakeholders. The students will ask questions and
take notes regarding people’s opinions about
Lakeside Avenue now, and the types of retail or
other services that would be desirable in the future.
Participants’ comments will be anonymous, but
students may ask for street block numbers to
generally identify where people live. Below is the
"official" language about this study.

This plan will provide recommendations to the
County of Henrico Department of Community
Revitalization and to the Lakeside Business
Association, to assist them in their efforts to
strengthen existing businesses and recruit
complementary businesses. The plan will include
market analysis of Lakeside Avenue between Hilliard
Road and the City line. It will also include
recommendations of new activities and, if
appropriate, physical improvements that could
capture more of the potential market.
