There are two web sites (thanks to Mary Delicate for the info) that will
help you
'visualize' your neighborhood. Be aware that both sites are still in Beta,
which
means you may encounter some buggy behavior (in the following sample, it
says
"Showing Zip code 10014." Malibu Colony Road is in Zip code 90265!).
The first is Zillow (http://www.Zillow.com).
This site will map your area showing
Real Estate Assessment values (currently showing 2005) for each lot/home.
See what
your neighbors have to pay. You can choose street map, satellite photo, or
both
(as shown in sample). You can zoom in and out, and move the map with the
compass
or by 'grabbing' the map with your mouse and moving it on the screen.
Here is a sample (I chose not to use Bellevue so I would not upset anyone!)

The other site is Windows Live Local (http://local.live.com).
It features street mapping,
aerial views, and a "bird's eye view" which is neat! You can
also get directions,
'pin' your
favorite spots, zoom and pan around. Here is a sample of
