Traffic

Ingrid Olson has volunteered to take on the traffic issues
of Bellevue as the traffic committee representative.

Prompted by concern over rising traffic issues such as
speeding and accidents, she is currently working on improving
the situation. She would like to get a traffic survey for which
the City drops wires across the street to determine the volume
and speed of traffic. Additionally she would like to see a speed
trailer set up for three days, as opposed to the 9AM-6PM one day
schedule at designated locations. She has also requested the accident
statistics for the following intersections: Bellevue/Pope/Hermitage,
Hermitage/Princeton, and Brook/Laburnum/Fauquier.

Residents should contact Ingrid for traffic issues that involve a change
of traffic pattern, street signs, markings, or anything that involves DPW
(Department of Public Works). From there, she will call a block meeting
to make sure everyone on the affected blocks are on the same page
(or close enough). Then she will contact the City and find out what they
are willing to do to solve the problem. Then another block meeting will
be held to determine the course of action that the neighbors would prefer.
In other words, which City solution the neighbors prefer. Then we take the
proposal to the Bellevue Civic Association to have them bless the neighbors
preferred course of action. We contact the City and work to make it so.
