BELLEVUE CIVIC ASSOCIATION
GENERAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING
February 17, 2009
HOLTON ELEMENTARY SCHOOL LIBRARY
The regular meeting of the Bellevue Civic Association
was held on Tuesday, November 15, 2011 at 7:03 P.M. at Linwood Holton
Elementary School, the President being in the chair and the Secretary
being present. The minutes of the last meeting were approved as printed
in the Bellevue Times.
The Treasurer reported assets of $4,973.50 with no
current liabilities. The report was filed. Bob Almond, the treasurer,
also gave the current membership report. As of November 15, 2011 there
were 142 household BCA memberships.
Sgt. Naoroz gave the Bellevue crime report. There
were 0 violent crimes in Bellevue in the year 2011. There were 34
property crimes in 2011.
The President introduced the guest speaker, Mr.
John Jennings, from Pro Energy Consulting. Mr. Jennings spoke to the
group about making educational choices when investing money in making
our older homes more energy efficient.
Representatives from the Department of Public
Utilities answered members’ questions about City services. A
representative from the Department of Public Works was also invited but
failed to attend.
Mike LaBelle, vice president, gave the report on
the Food Drive and Neighborhood Clean-up. The 2012 Clean-ups will be
May 12 and October 13. The Food Drive will be June 23, 2012.
Andy Mason, chairperson, reported on behalf of the
Garden Walk committee. The 2012 Garden Walk will be held on May 3.
Bellevue residents are urged to consider having their own gardens on
this year’s Walk.
Chris Miller and Linda Decker were again commended
for a successful Fall Bellevue Times.
Jerry DeVoss, Security Patrol leader, reported
that there are 82 Patrol members at this time. He reiterated the need
for more volunteers with 200 being a target number. There are plans
underway for forming dog walkers’ and bikers’ patrols.
Joyce Foster stated that the second annual BCA
Yard Sale will be June 2, 2012.
Bob Kocher spoke on behalf of the Bellevue
Merchants Association. He described some of the plans for “Christmas on
MacArthur” which is to be held on Saturday December 10 from 12:00 P.M.
to 4:00 P.M.
The President made the following announcements:
--- The Ginter Park Library Holiday Fundraiser
will be on Thursday,
December 1 from 7 to 9 P.M. The suggested
donation is $15.00 or
$25 for a couple. David Lydiard also told
the group that the library
renovation has been delayed until
2015.
--- CAPS meetings are every third Thursday at 6
P.M. at Linwood Holton
Elementary School.
--- Third District meetings are every fourth
Wednesday at 6 P.M. at the
Police Academy.
--- The next quarterly BCA meeting is February 15
at Holton Elementary.
