charity of choice.
Garden Walk- Diane Day reported that posters will be going up in Stir
Crazy
There are 13 houses on the walk this year, and the committee has had
requests
for additional printed programs. We are so pleased that it is a popular
event.
CleanUp- Bert Perkins reported that the city really came through for us
this
year, and arrived early with 4 trucks and a boom truck. Each truck had a
driver
and a helper. The neighborhood support was missing, however, and only
4 people showed up to help. This was very disappointing.
It was felt that perhaps not enough people got sufficient notice that
the cleanup
was taking place. We will do a better job with more signage and more
notice for
the Fall CleanUp. No one was willing to discontinue having the cleanup,
since it
is very important for our neighborhood.
Traffic- Carolyn O'Leary reported that the Westbrook project for the
residential
traffic circle at Crestwood will begin in July. It is scheduled to be
completed in
August. Two splitters will be located between Crestwood and the Azalea
Mall
entrance. A third splitter will be located in the 1600 block of
Westbrook
between Crestwood and Hermitage.
Virginia Carpenter had information to share on the proposed Bellevue
traffic
circle at Fauquier. She stated that she did not feel there was a need
for the circle.
She passed around pictures from her findings on the internet.
It was also reported that the stopmarks have not been repainted on
Crestwood
and on Fauquier.
Treasurer's Report - Beginning Balance $6,768.94
Ending Balance $4,949.43
Period covered is January to April.
We have taken in $135 from the Plant Swap.
Fun with History - Joellen awarded 5 gift certificates to Once Upon a
Vine ($25 each) to
Roy, Tim, Matt, Virginia, and Phil for correctly answering the 5
questions published in
the newsletter.
Open Items - David Lydiard gave a Belleuve report on the real estate
front. It is
spring and there are many houses listed for sale in Bellevue.
Tim McCaffrey shared plans to have a Bellevue Golf Tournament, and by
show of
hands in the assembled meeting, there would be a good level of
participation.
Tim also shared plans to have a Northside night at the Diamond with the
Flying Squirrels.
This was well-received too.
Meeting adjourned at 7:50 PM.
