·         He also announced a new crafts fair, organized by the Parks & Recreation Department, to be held in Bryant Park, on November 25 and December 2 from 2:00-6:00 p.m.

·         The matching program for trees throughout Bellevue is ready to roll out.

·         Timing of lights is being altered at Bellevue & Hermitage and also will be done on Brook.  All weekend,  lights will change according to traffic.

Lt. Morley gave his police activity crime report (November 1 – 18, 2008) for Bellevue.  There has only been 1 individual robbery, down from 4 last year. Property crimes are up slightly, mostly due to thefts from cars and buildings, especially around Ginter Park.  He emphasized the importance of putting all visible belongings into the trunk of the car, and to secure sheds with good hinge bolts and a lock that can’t be cut.  Lt. Morley invited residents to call him if they are going away for a period of time and he will have cruisers go by more frequently.  Also neighbors should watch for any unusual activity around vacant homes, like strange cars in the driveways, and to please contact him.  He commented that if you think something is wrong, to trust your instincts.  He can be reached at 646-4105 or by email at timothy.morley@richmondgov.com

Janet Brown gave the Treasurer’s Report.  The current balance in the BCA account is $7,344.30.  She is looking into opening a PayPal account.

Ray Brabrand reported on Block Captains.  There are very few registered Captains, and he is preparing a list of blocks & Captains.  If anyone wants to know who their Captain is, or has interest in serving, please contact him.

Joellen gave the Newsletter Report.  February is the next issue, and the deadline for articles and ads is January 10.   Newsletter trivia questions were asked and several prizes were awarded.

Roy Reynolds acknowledged past presidents of BCA.  All those present were invited to the front, and were given specially made t-shirts.  John Anderson was also recognized for his work on the BCA website.

The slate of officers for 2009 was introduced –

President, Eric Gregory

Vice-President, Bert Perkins

Treasurer, Phil Strunk

Secretary, Pat Vitsky

There were no nominations from the floor, and the slate was approved unanimously.

David Lydiard discussed the Ginter Park Library, and the need for fund to help with a face-lift.  He invited neighbors to  a fundraising event on December 4, 7:00-9:00 p.m., $15 per person.  There will be a jazz trio and “a taste of Bellevue” with local restaurants participating.

Bellevue t-shirts were made available to all volunteers.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:15 p.m.
