BELLEVUE CIVIC ASSOCIATION
BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETING
JULY 30, 2008
ROY REYNOLDS’ HOME
The meeting was called to order at 7:10 p.m. by Roy Reynolds,
President.
Roy noted that the next General Membership Meeting is scheduled for
August 19 at Once Upon a Vine. There will be raffles and door prizes.
There was much discussion regarding the best use of the $800 donated
by Chris Hilbert to the BCA, and another anonymous $400 donation.
Elizabeth Barrett and Katie Roamer had contacted the Board about
adding trees to the neighborhood. A proposal from Davis Balzar &
Associates was also discussed. Various costs to have trees planted
ranged
from $50 (first tree from city), $150 (each tree after first), and $80
by
an arborist. Ways to extend existing funds were also discussed, such as
an ‘adopt-a-tree’ program for residents.
The Board raised a variety of questions, including how to identify
the
locations for new trees, what types of trees, etc. Pat Glazer & Susan
Murphy will co-chair a small committee to look into these questions,
speak with the city arborist, and report back.
The “Pasta & Politics” event is still on, with about 40 people
expected
to attend at Tastebuds. The menu and pricing is still being finalized.
Regarding the School Board, it was noted that Pat Fishback is a
write-in
candidate, and Carol Wolf may do the same.
Roy posted the Roundabout Resolution on the Website and has received
no negative feedback.
Roy is also working with Riches Stitches and will bring some of the
hats
to the August meeting to show as samples.
The meeting was adjourned at 7:45 p.m.
