Board Meeting Minutes
January 19, 2007  10 AM
meeting held at Stir Crazy 
 

In Attendance:  Janet Brown, Joellen Davis, Sally Dunnington, 
Larry Jones, Susan Murphy, Roy Reynolds
 

In preparation for the General Civic Meeting on the 22nd, we 
met for agenda items and discussion.

The fate of the newsletter was discussed, since there had not been an
Ad Manager, Publisher, or many articles submitted. We talked about
sending it out electronically, only to members. It would also be
available to all on the Bellevue website. 

Susan Murphy stepped up and took the responsibility for Ad Manager.
More effort will be placed on securing articles of interest as well.

It was thought that attendance at the general meetings might be improved if
we provide child care. A good suggestion was made to have someone who
is studying child development be recruited to provide the child care, and they will 
be able to get school credit for it.

Discussed the main Post Office fiasco with the lack of stamps for our newsletter
mailing. Roy had spent 2 hours at the Post Office simply trying to buy stamps
to use with our permit. They had none, and we were forced to hand deliver the
newsletters. 
We have a permit that cost us $125 that is good for one year, and we are able
to mail our newsletters for $.14 each. We have purchased a true saturation list
for our 1105 households.

The newsletter contains several misspellings, and we will announce a contest
at the meeting to find them. The reward will be a neighborhood merchant
certificate of some kind. Contest open to members only.

Need to make everyone aware that the BCA leadership for 2009 will need
to be a new roster. The president, vice-president, and treasurer have served
their maximum terms in their positions. 

Lieutenant Tim Morley is scheduled to appear.

Northside Grille was granted its patio permit, and that needs to be announced.
Also we need to announce that Shannan will not be doing outdoor Karaoke.

Discussed taking PayPal for membership dues. Treasurer is establishing separate
bank account for PayPal.
